I have a young chocolate Orpington that just got broody about a week ago for the first time, dumping in cold water did not work so do I need to put her in chicken jail if I want to break her out of it or will putting an ice pack under her to get her out of the nest box and blocking them while making her be outside work with patience and time? I don’t have any roosters so she’s not hatching any eggs, I just want to know if chicken jail is the ultimate option or there’s more techniques that work.

Try chicken jail first. Place her in a dog kennel with food, water, and a roost for a minimum of 24 hours, although 48 is typical, and sometimes 72+ is an order. Make sure the eggs are removed from the nest boxes. If that doesn't work, you can TRY the ice pack but that doesn't work very well (and I don't like that method anyways). Close of the nesting boxes if needed.

Should the cage be isolated and separated from the run? Or can she be in the run by her flock during these 24 to 72 hours?

My preference is inside the run, so she still has some socialization and no need to worry about having to reintegrate once she's broken. If that's not possible, next to the run (or inside the coop) would be my next choice, with removing her from the area completely as the last choice (i.e. if weather does not permit you keeping her out there).

My broody jail is in the coop.
Fastest way to break them, IMO.
Might take a couple-few rounds of 48-72 hours if she's been setting a week.
