So I have had two mallards that have gone broody one after the other. The first one I got rid of the eggs bc they weren’t fertile but she got so depressed after I did that that I didn’t mess with the eggs for the second one. These ducks are a year old and my first experience with ducks. The second duck has been sitting on her nest for weeks and today is the first time I decided to go peek when I saw her off the nest. There is a huge amount of eggs and I candled a few. The pictures are from the few I did. I’m leaving tomorrow to go out of state until Wednesday night so I’m hoping the ducks will be able to handle themselves if any duckling hatch.

I have limited experience but will try to help What day did they start sitting consistently? hat would count as day 1. But you need to give some leeway of a few extra days
You didn't mention a drake but the ones with veins look viable. Not too sure about the last two. Might be full of duckling or have gone bad. If you gently shake the last 2 do they slosh?
Were you planning to remove the ducklings as they hatch? If you are close to hatch day, you might need to have someone come over and check.
Since you have to be away, you might need to let nature determine what happens next.
Hopefully someone with more experience will join the thread.
