Yup, you read that right. My broody little Swedish Blue is sitting on rocks. They are outside her coop so every night I shoo her off the nest and every day she returns to it. I have dismantled it and she just keeps building it up again. Granted she usually has actual eggs in it...

I don't have a set up where she could really have the privacy she would need to raise babies right now but I might in about a month. At that time could I sneak a few babies to her nest and let her be convinced she hatched them?

I just want a happy duck and honestly I was going to add some more ducks to my flock soon anyway so if she wants to raise them, I'm all for it.

I don't have ducks, but I do have 3 broody Buff Orpington chickens that set on golf balls bc I take the eggs away every day. They are very determined setters and have hatched for me iin the past, but I don't need chicks this year. How long do ducks set, 28 days, right? If your duck is still broody in a month you might try giving her day-olds at night and see if she will mother them, I know this often works with hens. But have a brooder set up and ready just in case she doesn't.. 😊 Good luck!
