I have a unique situation. We live on a small man made lake community, but we are in the city. It is a long story, but we rescued an abandoned sick Peking duckling at about 2 days old. We tried to make her a "lake duck" but it never worked. She is more like a dog. She has diapers, watches TV on the couch. She is very happy. Some of the ducks from the lake fly or walk over, but she doesn't ever want to socialize with them at all. She just turned 5. She stopped laying eggs at about 2. We took her to a specialist and they said she has poly-cystic ovaries. The problem is she still gets "broody" each year. She doesn't necessary stay on her dog beds all day, but she is really aggressive and almost mean right now. She is otherwise so sweet all the time. It has now been about 6 weeks. This has never happened before. We want our sweet little duck back. Any suggestions? She still walks around, goes in the pool and doesn't lay all day, but she will be fine one minute and then become "psyco duck" yelling, pecking and throwing her stuffed animals all over the place. Can anyone help?

Aww poor girl about all I have ever been able to do with a broody duck is let it run it’s course they eventually get over their nasty disposition. Maybe just try and ignore the behavior since it’s just natural hormones at work and they will soon pass or get her some hatching eggs trader joe has them not sure they have duck eggs though but then again Pekins aren’t known for their bloodiness. :idunnoShe sounds adorable too can we have a pic?

I will have to post additional pictures. She loves to dress up and pose for pictures, so I have a lot of great ones. The Dodger picture was her getting ready for the playoffs two years ago.
Do you think they would have hatching eggs at Trader Joe's in LA? I could give it a try.
Thanks!
