Broody duck with no eggs

Aww poor girl about all I have ever been able to do with a broody duck is let it run it’s course they eventually get over their nasty disposition. Maybe just try and ignore the behavior since it’s just natural hormones at work and they will soon pass or get her some hatching eggs trader joe has them not sure they have duck eggs though but then again Pekins aren’t known for their bloodiness. :idunnoShe sounds adorable too can we have a pic?

Simple...Remove her nest site and she will definitely break on her own..
The odd thing is she doesn't have a nest site. During the day she just walks around the front and back yards and goes in the pool. At night we bring her in and have 3 dog beds and a tented area she likes. She just goes from one bed to the other at night. Do you think we should take all the beds away at night?

If she has already been broody for 6 weeks, I wouldn't try giving her fertile eggs now. It would be another month before they hatch. Ten weeks of sitting would not be good for her health, in my opinion.

My ducks normally stop being broody when I take their eggs and destroy their nest. My chickens can be more persistent. To break a broody chicken I put her in a wire bottom cage, that's raised a little off the floor, with food and water. The wire bottom allows for air flow that cools the hen's underside. Most of mine are back to normal in 2 days, some take a few more.

What happens if you just move them around or change them somehow. (What is her bed made of?)
Most ducks don’t like much change and just moving things around will interrupt their routine. Hopefully in her case, it would break her mean broody behavior.

Maybe you can get her a duckling from the place you got her from? You can probably get a duckling from craigslist, kijiji, pennysaverusa or Metzer farms. There is a place in San Jose called Olivera Egg Farm that has balut Pekin duck eggs that they keep warm in an incubator. They are about 70 cents each. I have bought some and hatched them in an incubator. They are about a week from hatching. They are 6 hours away though, or you can try eBay but shipped eggs are riskier.
