So happy you have joined our flock.I don't actually introduce mine. The broody hens do. I have two brooders in the run. The hen usually takes them out after the 2nd or 3rd day.How do you introduce the chicks? I actually have 6 that are a week old from the same hen…she abandoned them so I hatched them out…btw I’ve got another broody hen that allows other chickens to lay right on top of her so I’m taking those eggs and leaving dummy eggs…wonder if I can give her the chicks..![]()
I don't know if your hen would take week Olds. Lucy, my old hen would, but most won't. If you can fix them a brooder in your run, the flock will be used to them by 4 to 6 weeks. If you free range, I'd wait a little longer to release them into the flock.How do you introduce the chicks?
