broody hatch ... any one wanna join?

I have a buckeye hen sitting on 7 eggs

This is day number 4 of her sitting. All the eggs should be fertile

Any oen else got a broody going right now?

I have a EE/BO mutt sitting on 5 eggs. We are on day 6. I am looking forwards to candling in a few days!

I have a muscovy duck sitting on I think 10 or 11 eggs (plus one chicken egg). No idea what day she started sitting, maybe 4 days go? I caught my barred rock layer (the one who keeps snekaing her eggs in) sitting on my duck on the clutch today...the weirdos.

I didn't know I had a broody hen, but today she came out of hiding with 8 chicks she must have hatched on Thanksgiving Day!

So.... I guess I'm not really participating so much as marveling at my sheer luck.

I have had one sitting on 7 eggs also for about 5 days as well. I raise Cornish LF and they are traditional non brooders, but this pullet is weird. She hasn't even layed an egg yet and at 6 mo old she's already broody. So I seperated her, put some good eggs under her and sure as shootin she's been a good setter so far. I am pretty stoked to have a broody and to think I was going to cull her due to a minor color infraction.

How are your broodies doing? My ducky (Miss Spotty) is being a good mama and sitting vigilantly on her cluch of about 11 duck eggs and one chicken egg.

I just counted and she did too after I was done

11 duck eggs and 2 chicken eggs (which may or may not be fertile--we took our bantam cochin roo out of the coop over a week ago to now discover our RIR hen is actually a Buckeye Roo!! lol)

I am out. First time broody and she got off the eggs in the night. They were ice cold this morning.
