Hello everyone!
Recently ive started considering whether to clip my chicken's wings feathers, or not.
This morning, one of my hens started to show signs of becoming broody (not her first time and I recognize these signs..)
My question - will she be able to incubate her eggs if I clip her wing feathers? If so, I won't....
Do chickens use their wings to keep the eggs warm?
It seems to me that they use only their breast feathers and "belly" to incubate the eggs.

Would appriciate your help!! Thank you!!

First: why do you feel the need to clip their wings?

Second: a broody certainly does use her wings to help trap body heat for both incubation and keeping the brood warm.

This hen has 5 eggs under her.

Why do you want to clip their wings? Is it so they don't escape or another reason? Broody hens definitely need their wings to keep eggs warm. If you have to clip their wings maybe don't clip them on the broody one and clip the rest?

Thank you!!
I thought of clipping their wings because they sometimes try to jump over the wall...
I guess that if the hen is broody - she won't be interested in jumping over the wall, right? So it is not a problem to leave her wings unclipped...
Another thing, I have noticed that she uses her breast feathers to cover the eggs that are on the front of the nest. Is it ok? Doesn't she have to push these eggs under her body?

She knows what she's doing.
Has she locked on and give full broody yet?
Can you post a picture of her on the nest?
Is she in a good spot to set and hatch?

Thank you all!
I will be able to post a picture soon.
She is in her own nest box.
She has a brood patch. Btw, does she pluck these feathers by herself, or they just fall while brooding?

She plucks them.
