The best thing for the hen is to break her from brooding. Some hens stop on their own after several weeks while others will brood indefinitely if they are allowed to do so; not a healthy situation. We took the 5 eggs that were under her. She was mad! I shooed her out of the nesting box. We decided to see what was inside the eggs. 3 had nothing but icky stinky goo. 2 of them had chicks inside but they died early on. Shadow has returned to her nest, should I leave her there or encourage her to get out?
