I went on a treasure hunt around the house until I found these gems. Charming and functional....

Here is my lone survivor of the two eggs in this incubator. I named it Banner. There ya have it.

I must be on a good run of bad luck. That chick, Banner, died sometime this morning! I checked on it around 7:00am.. All was fine. Then come 10:30am I find it dead. I haven't a clue why. It was eating and drinking fine.

I just found one of my two chicks has hatched. Mama tucked it back under pretty quick. Very curious about the other one.

I will post pics as soon as I get them They were eggs from my flock. I started with four: 2 EEs, 1 EE and speckled sussex mix, and 1 EE and barred rock mix. Now just 1 EE and the speckled sussex EE mix remain.

By the way, what is your Speckled Sussex/EE mix like? Does she lay green or brown eggs? Does she have the fluffy cheeks like an Easter Egger?
