Broody hen has scaly leg mites

She is a feathered legged cochin, and has leg mites

I did treat with DE before she went in the nest box but what happens when the chicks are born, are they at risk for complications if they are exposed to scaly leg mites?

I would use something stronger.. How long til the chicks are born .. If it is still early I would use sevin dust and dust her well. I used MissPrissys idea of making a ball out of pantyhose and turning the chicken upside down then dusting very well... Also you should be putting mineral oil on her legs to kill off the mites and help them heal..
