Broody hen killed first chick!!

I think i have a bad momma, do i pull the eggs and put them in lockdown???

I checked on her and saw a chick dead and upside down in the coop with some clear pecking damage. Broody hen had blood on her beak. First egg to hatch one day early but now im worried. What do i do? Pull eggs and put them in the incubator or wait for them to hatch and then pull?

I personally would pull the eggs too hatch in a safer space. I'd brood them inside and grow them out so the hen won't kill them. I tried to introduce my chick's a couple weeks earlier and my hen took one down. She is ok but i packed up and let them grow out for a couple more weeks. She established a pecking order with them an gives a few butt pecks but no longer takes them to the ground. I think because they are bigger. If you don't bring the eggs in you will risk the hen destroying the whole hatch. I'm pretty cautious so personally that's what I would do to insure a successful hatch.

Ya I too am on the cautious side. I dont want to risk it, theyre going in the incubator. Thanks for the affirmation!!!
