Broody Hen/need help

Hens will kill smaller birds?

Like baby chicks, or like my 4 month old silkies?

I think I need to move her because my husband said he caught a different hen trying to get into Sunnys nest.

Is the fact that I live in Wisconsin and it has been getting down in the 40's and night, high of 55 today, is this a problem?

Let her be...She will hatch them just fine and they will get down on the ground when they are ready

.....My hens sit on their eggs in a nest about chest high...there is only enough room for them in it and everything is fine......the chicks hatch and I guess jump down when ready...I have never seen them jump but they got to get down somehow...Ive never lost a chick from falling.....and they are in a pen with other hens and roosters....None of the other chickens kill the chicks...The hen wont let them...she shows them whos boss and they leave her and babies alone......
I think most people worry to much about it....When I interfear with things is when things go wrong....They will be fine

I agree with what most others have said, but also particularly with roosty. I have heard that chicks are fine to get down out of a nestbox that high, then the hen will just cover them on the ground. The roosters and other hens could be a problem though.
