Broody hen pecked pipping duck egg.

This week, wow! is all i have to say lol. Ive learned so much and learned from my mistakes. Soooo...
Now i have 2 that externally pipped in 1 spot about 14 hrs ago.they were under the hen. I checked this morning and there was no progress. When i touched the egg to get a sound from them, freaking ants came out. Omg... you guess it, i took them immediately with me. Made a bigger hole, dripped a few drops of water in and a few more ants came out. Oh i hope they didnt hurt these babies. They are trying hard to wiggle free, breathing good, chirping like crazy. One thing i did notice on both, the egg tooth has all but disappeared completely. I THINK thats why there was no further progress. They are wrapped in a very wet towel, under the heat lamp but not as close as i had the other one.I AM NOT TOUCHING these because they can breath and when they are ready to push further, they can. The membrane was a little dry but there are absolutely no blood vessels on the top part. Either way, when they are ready they have access to being able to emerge. Ill send some pics shortly. I feel better about these 2. If the hen hadnt drawn blood from pecking the other one that died im sure i would have let that one alone too. Exciting!

Yes!! Those ants made me crazy! Lol im sitting on my hands. All im doing is chirping back to them lol

They are progressing almost identicle. They are now about an hour further than in this pic. The yellow on the towel is not near that color live. Its actually from the brownish part of the membrane and the color is picked up by the red heat lamp.

The one on the left was born 3 hours after the one on the right. And this pic was 7 hours ago. So, little one is doing just as good now as baby A. :D
