One of our bantams has started sitting on our other chickens eggs. She puffs her feathers out and let’s out this horrific sound until we go away. It’s gotten so bad that we have to pick her up and move her off the eggs. We don’t even have a rooster so the eggs can’t be fertile.
We know that she’s gone broody, but what do you do with broody hens? Can we stop this? I really wanted to use this opportunity to buy some hatching eggs but we don’t have anymore room for more chickens. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Try and get some gloves on and put your hand under her to grab the eggs. If you keep doing this every time she does sit on them maybe she will stop. Or you could replace the eggs with golf balls

I move mine off the nest every morning to the farthest part of the yard from the coop and sprinkle some tasty treats. Then I collect all the eggs. This is not the fastest method, but I’m persistent and it does work eventually. Takes 1-2 weeks and they are very cranky.

Remove her from the nest and put her in a wire crate or another enclosure where she can't get to the nest box, with food and water. She stays in the box until she starts acting normally again. At that point you can let her out to test if she'll stay out of the nest box (if not, back in the crate). You can break most chickens quickly this way, maybe 2 to 5 days.
