I have a broody. I am no newcomer to raising with broodies but never in my new run. How do I keep them moist off the ground. Also she is only 9 months old

No I said it is too dry and I hav heard they need to stay moist possibly with some soil under nest. But that sound unhygenic

The hen will keep the eggs adequately moist and she doesn't need soil under her nest. I've let broodies hatch chicks in boxes in coops with concrete floors and they had no problem. They don't have any special requirements, just a safe, sheltered spot to hatch and raise their chicks.

i let my broody hatch her eggs in with all my other chickens so then they will meet each other right away and so my other chickens wont attack the hen or chicks once i put them back in and mine did fine doing this .. how long has she been on the nest for ???

We haven't set her yet as she isn't ready. I normally either just find them with eggs and leave them to it or put them in a run on the ground
