Hello,
It's my first time hatching with a broody hen. She is a buff orpington and is always broody. This year, I gave her four fertile eggs to hatch, but she always sits in the top portion of the coop, where the eggs are laid, 2-3 feet off the ground. I'm worried that the chicks will fall if hatched there, so I moved her downstairs to a new location with her eggs. She will stay there for a few hours, but after getting up to eat and poo, she goes upstairs, even though her eggs are downstairs. How do I make her stay downstairs?
P.s., this is happening in a suburban backyard, and moving her to a separate coop is not possible.
Thank you!
