I have a trio of Jap bantams, they share the same house and run. Both hens are sitting on eggs and a few have hatched under one today. Will the cock or other hen show aggression towards the new chicks? and must I seperate them. The three of them are very tame and handled regularly.
Thanks

Try to keep hens apart as they are inclined to harm another's chicks or fight over space in a manner that puts chicks at risk. Mature cocks generally not a threat but watch him at first to verify. I would place a hen with chicks under crate with feed and water on outside where hen and chicks can reach it. Make so both hens have such an arrangement when with chicks until chicks have limited capacity for flight. Cock can be on outside of crates and be able to interact with chicks if they choose.

Thanks for replying. Woke up this morning and a chick was missing searched everywhere and I presumed the crows got it. I heard a faint peep coming from the other hens box and there the chick was nestled with the other hen. I still separated them as their coop wasn't suitable for chicks
