I have a sexlink that is only about 14 months old and she seems to have gone broody on me. Do they go broody that early.
My new batch of spring chicks also had some that were roosters and my rooster is about 16 weeks old. Is it possible her eggs could be fertile? So I guess my questions are about age? Is it possible for a 16 week old roo to fertilize an egg and should my 14 month old be broody yet?

I am pretty sure that they can go broody that early but I don't think that the rooster will be fertile yet but I am not sure.

I had a pullet go broody on me VERY early on! I was new to the whole thing & didn't know what to do at the time. I LET her stay in her nest for way too long, then learned what to do about it. She hasn't pulled that stunt again!
I don't know at what age a roo can fertilize aggs. I never thought about it. Somebody here will know that answer! Keep checking back!
