Broody Hen Thread!

Broody poop?! I was looking into some questionable poop in the coop (looks like its normal) but came across a post of poop pictures detailing conditions. The lady had a picture of poop she attributed to a broody hen, calling it "huge" and "very smelly." I have a hen that's in segregation in a dog crate after being injured (minor but its causing the others to peck her to smithereens.). The other day I almost died when I went to check on her from the smell exuding from her crate. After opening I observed something that looked like it should have come from a dog, not a chicken! It's exactly the same as the picture I stumbled across. She's laying eggs just fine (every other day or so) and seems quite content. Could confining her have caused her to become broody?

She isn't broody just being confined is what's making her so smelly. Not enough room for her to exercise around.

Ok thanks for all your help! Sorry to ask so many questions, but I don't want to mess this up! Any kind of meat? And can my other chickens have citrus fruits like oranges? Because they love them! Thanks!

Just hot dogs or ham. My chickens love to eat rats though. They will scratch up a mole and try to eat it!! LOL!! =)

Hi everyone!
My clutch is going good! But of course I have a few questions, hahaha. My broody hen I am feeding her chick is that ok? I ask this because when she poops it smells up the whole basement where she is at. Also her poop is green, a little solid some days. But today it looked like water ballon blew up with green poop inside? Is this normal or okay? Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks!

don't worry about the watery poo bill she is trying to cool off when a hen broods they raise their body temp to incubate something like fever and when they are coming off the brood they attempt to lower the fever by drinking lots of water and expelling it regulate temps hens in a hot environment will do the same it's normal
