If I were you I would, especially if they share a nest box then you dont have to keep getting eggs off her etc. It also means when they hatch the other hens wont disturb her. Good luck with the hatch!Should I separate my broody from the flock??

if she is a dominate hen now she will quickly fend off any nest jumpers they tend to get a strong mind set on where they want to set and sometimes the stress of the move will change her mind about broodingShould I separate my broody from the flock??
The broody silkie is the dominant hen in the flock and she is in a little box outside in the chicken pen and the other hens dont bother her but the problem Im worried about is the other roosters and hens killing the chicks.I would LOVE to be able to let the silkie and her chicks roam around the coops and pen with all the other chickens but I dont want the other chickens to peck and kill the chicks...I would hate to block her off to one corner of the pen by herself and the chicks because I want her and the chicks to be able to roam around the coops and pen with the other chickens...what should I do?if she is a dominate hen now she will quickly fend off any nest jumpers they tend to get a strong mind set on where they want to set and sometimes the stress of the move will change her mind about brooding
Ok great,I will try this and to help the day the chicks hatch I will let the others free range so there away from the penIf she is the dominant hen they will respect her and the chicks' space or I am sure pay the price. None of the other chickens dare go near Betty's babies.
Oh yea and of course the americauna rooster and buff silkie rooster are dominant over her but the other hens are less dominant but im shure the roosters wont kill themOk great,I will try this and to help the day the chicks hatch I will let the others free range so there away from the pen
