i intergrate mine at about 2 months old. You have to do it slowly though other wies they will kill them put them in a seprate run or area where they can see the other chickens after about a week i let them out with the others and they get along fine!

animalboy mine are 9 weeks and are still pritty small. The chicks with the mother go out free rangeing all day with the other hens but at nigth they and are in a seperate coop.so i think there ready to go in yes. the perce the adults are on is kinda high would it be ok for the chicks

if they have all their feathers they should be fine of course depending on the breed some take longer to get feathers. It would also depend on weather. Usually its warm enough out be the end of june but this year isnt looking to promising.

I have a small pen in my coop for chicks. The pen has an opening large enough for the chicks to get out but too small for the adult birds to get in. This allows the chicks to integrate with the flock on their timeline. If the adult birds get too aggressive then the chicks retreat to their pen. I've had great success with the chicks integrating very quickly.

My girl seems to be moving off the nest to let the other hens lay (since she is in the favourite box) and then pops back on - Also, our little 16 week old bantam cochin is choosing to sleep with her at night instead of on the roost. So funny!

YEAH!!!! My australorp did a great job. Day 21 today, and I have seen 4 chicks so far. There were a total of 8 eggs under her, so we'll see if there are more to come. So Very HAPPY. First time moms for us both. These are bantam babies (don't know what kind). The second picture are the parents of the eggs.
