Hi everyone! I have an almost 6 month old Black Copper Marans pullet. She has been laying for several weeks. Today she was taking forever to lay, or so I thought. After about 4 hours of watching her sit there, I went out to look for an egg. Sure enough, she had laid. She is apparently broody! I took it away over 4 hours ago, and she is still sitting in the same nesting box. I do not have a rooster. Should I leave her be? Should I "bust" her? (I dont mind if she doesnt lay for a while...I am getting plenty of eggs) Should I give her some hatching eggs just for fun or is she too young? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Give her some local hatching eggs. It's a wonderful and beautiful process to watch.
