Broody Hen Thread!

They are Perkins d,anvers and mixed breeds

What is the best way to introduce eggs to a broody? I just received 6 Sillkie eggs for my very broody hen. Can I give them to her now or should I wait until nightfall? Anything else I should be aware of? This is my first time doing this. Thanks for any and all advice!

just slip the right under her right now she'll be so happy to get them. I also want to add that if she is still laying eggs you may want to mark the Silkie eggs and continue to take away any new eggs. if she currently has eggs under her you'll want to remove them too.

I have the choice of 9 month old Speckled Sussex, Wellsummer, Black Copper Maran laying pullets. My goal is a hen that WILL be likely to go broody. Any suggested picks or should I look for others. Thanks.
