Awesome, I wish I had a couple of BO's. I almost caught one at the Red Barn in Sylvester, Ga. It's a feed, animal store type thing. All of the chickens roam free in the back.

Hi everyone else, too- I have a question I hope someone can answer.
I've got a broody Black Australorp right now and since we have 2 roosters in with our 20 or so hens thought I might try sticking some eggs under her and see what happens. Can't hurt anyway, right? But what is a good number of eggs to put under her? I've been reading a lot but haven't seen that answered! thanks

She's just under a year old, so full size. I think she could handle 12. Candling is a good idea. I'll take all the "free" chicks we can get.![]()
I have the worst time telling fertile from non-fertile so I wouldn't trust my own opinion on that.We've got 2 very busy roosters though, I think they should be good. LOL!![]()
