What I would do ------Is Not Let that happen---then I would not have to fire up the incubator.
If You will Notice I used the word "Let" (Allow). Anyone can raise their chickens any way they want---its their chickens----I am just Saying for me-----to keep from having problems/staggered hatch, well developed eggs dying, etc """"I"""" will not "Let" eggs get added to my broodies!!Things do happen like added eggs or she could just give up that happened to me more then once last year I felt like I had broodies from hell. They would all go broody and just give up.
All five of mine r out!!!

Things that are out of your control----you can not control like a broody leaving the set.
I totally understood your comment on what you would do----You said if it was your situation you would put them in your incubator----I said I would not Let that situation happen----I think you were thinking I was attacking you--------you and I were just 2 people expressing what we would do if that was our situation----But then you throwed a comment back at me---defending "yourself"---My Comment was not towards You at all--------I want to say Wooooooo, you and I are good----No problem with your comment at All!!I really think you are miss taking my addvise. You were commenting that there would still be life in the eggs so I stated what I would do in that situation. That's all. I am not saying I'm perfect or that someone is doing something immoral with thier chickens.
Actually, all my eggs have potential life, yet most are eaten. I don't know if additional eggs have been slipped into the nest because Dovey hugs it very closely. She makes it clear she does not want her brood disturbed, so I will let her manage the entire affair. Whatever Dovey does is presumed to be the best course of action. I am sure I am not better at hatching than a hen.Question, are you going to just let the Extra eggs that possibly have been slipped in over the 3 weeks period-----just die----You said "I won't let her wait for those to hatch"?? If they are fertile eggs---there is a Life in those eggs too!
