Broody Hen Thread!

I went to the chicken coop this morning and I found I have another broody! She has 21 eggs and I can wait for them all to hatch! Its still such a long time!
Now I have 5 broodies!
1 Is in the chicken coop with 15 eggs!
2 The other is in the chicken coop with 21 eggs!
3 One is in the field with 16 eggs!
4 Is in the rabbit hutch with 19 eggs!
5 IS in the garden with 23 eggs!
So many eggs and the are all due in a 14 day period! Its going to be hard! But I will love it!!!

Holy 94 chicks that's a lot GOOD LUCK!!!

I don't worry! I let my chickens be! I once had a hen who went broody on 31 eggs! All of them hatched! The poor mother couldn't cover them all but she made a plan!
I felt so sorry for her!
It was sooo cute to watch her try her best to cover them all!

Holy Cow!!! and here I limit my hens because I worry they cant cover them right...Never again lol

Hi everyone :)
I'm sorry if these questions have been asked and answered. I started reading through this thread but there's almost 500 pages!

I have a broody Buff Orpimgton. Yesterday I was able to get her to leave the nest box and free range but not for long. Today, I literally pushed her around and she just puffed up and stayed put. So, I'm pretty sure she's broody. I would like to have her hatch some eggs. Here are my questions:

1. I only have two hens. Do I still need to separate them? I think my barred rock would get really lonely. Actually, watching her peck at my back door, she is already lonely.

2. How soon should I put fertilized eggs under her?

I ask because I will be gone for a week next week and won't be able to get fertilized eggs until the weekend after I return. It will be 15 days from now. Is that too long to wait? How long do they stay broody?

Big problem I have a broody hen who sat on a nest for 1 week straight with no eggs under her so today I put 13 fertilized eggs under her but now she won't go on it

What happened?

Mine's been broody for months now, started last season, she chilled out during the winter and as soon as it warmed up she started jumping on eggs and trying to hatch em again.

Try to slip them under her at night. maybe sitting on them thru the night would work
