Aaaah everyone's baby picks are making me so antsy. My girls are due tomorrow and I went out to check on her this morning and 4 eggs were pushed out. I candled and one was fine but 3 were iffy. I put them back since they are due tomorrow but I'm nervous about them now. She's in a smaller broody coop but the nest area is bigger (from a 10"x10" nest box to a 1'x10" nest box with the brooder run attached) and she moved them last night from one corner of the nest to the other and left a few behind in the darkness.here's to hoping they make it.![]()
You can try to put food in front of her and see if she will eat. You can also try to get her off the nest to see if she will eat.How far along is she ?help my broody hen lost heaps of weight over the 5 weeks she has been broody now shes got fertile eggs under her so how can i get her weight up?
Aaaaaah I keep trying to distract myself, but more often than not I'm out there just staring at her through a little opening waiting to hear peeping. Can you make time go faster please and thank you lol.

That is a long time I am not sure she would last another 3 weeks. My opinion would be to break her broodiness. But definitely try putting food in front of her and see if she will eat.
Even if you need to see if she will eat out of your hand.ok im putting wheat sardines cornn spinach and cucumber - be right back also if we break her we dont have an incubator to continue the eggs![]()
She is probably not going to put on any weight now that she is broody. Feed her some higher protien feed. When is the last time you wormed her---and what did you use?? If I have just one hen that seem to be to thin---I separate her from the rest and worm her---If all the ones in that pen seem thin---I worm all of them and just discard the eggs for a couple weeks or hatch then(according to the breed). If she has tape worms---they can get her down so bad she will die. A tape worm can drink Wazine for breakfast---it want touch a tape worm.any ideas how to get my broodiest hen to put on weight she is super thin but shes now sitting on 13 guinea fowl eggs![]()
