Broody Hen Thread!

Ok well I am fresh back from Illinois late last night and at work today, but I can tell you on Wednesday our Broody Bantam hatched 5 of the 10 eggs she was sitting on. From what my wife said she has been a great mother so far. Our flock is now 20 with the little ones. momma and babies are still in our broody coop.

Now to our questions,

1. What do we feed the little ones that has no antibiotics?
2. When is it safe to let them and momma integrate?

Any idea what we got would be good too, we were told some were Bantam Polish Silkies or possibly Frizzle a Gray Cochin Bantam and we don't remember the rest.

False alarm. My silkie decided that she didn't want to hatch any eggs and got out of the nest. Good thing i didn't put those eggs under her.

Not according to where we got it from they claim it to be a sebright

After almost a month of trying to break my broody bantam, I decided to give her a couple eggs today. So maybe I will get my henrietta back and godzilla will go away! lol

Speckles is doing a great job at being a mom. She got off the unhatched eggs today and now they are in the bigger pen. I think there is 7 chicks.

I also have 19 indian runner eggs, 6 bantam eggs, and 2 chick eggs in the bator due the 1st, and 9 blue splash runner and 3 runner eggs due the 24th.....

I have a question for you all. My bobby and her babies are doing well and eating up a storm, but Bobby is a thin and her comb a bit pale after her broody spell. She was broody for a few weeks before I concluded that I couldn't break it and gave her eggs - so this has been a long haul. Does anyone have any sure fire ways to her her back in shape. So far I've found it hard to feed her anything other than chick starter since the chicks are way interested in everything she eats. Thanks guys.

Here is my broody BO who hatched out three chicks a week ago. This is her having a staring contest with an Easter egg.
