Broody Hen Thread!

Okay, So I first had 2 broodies, then 2 more, then 2 more now the first 2 are broody again!!! AHHHHHHHH this is beging to be CRAZY!

I have two BCM hens and two bantys that are sitting on Nothing 0 nada zip nothing and have been, in one case for 4 wks ??? HELP

It is very strange they laid one egg and starting sitting. The magpies

got the bantys (on going war here) and the BCMs disappeared also, BUT they all continued to sit and sit ....??? Never done this in the almost 20yrs of chickens ??? Had one BCM sit long enough to hatch 1 baby then he was crushed in the nest over nitght

. Mean while hidden in the haystack 7 baby bantys and their mom emerged. Its been a year ??!!!

my first broody (all 3 of my hens, the first one went, the then other started sitting) is supposed to be due tomorrow or sunday. has a couple babies sitting under her tonight

I have so many broody silkies! Here is a pic of one.

She adopted the older ones! That one little baby you see is the only one thats hers. She guards them well!

LOL I wouldn't say mine are! Most of mine are just plain stupid. They switch nests everyday and pile up into one big broody huddle so when a chick hatches, they fight over it!
