It is so frustrating when they do that! I had like 4 broody silkies at once and just one chick hatched. The chick was so confused about who the mom was and the 4 mommas were chasing him everywhere! I had to separate them. When I picked the chick up, it started cheeping and all four broodies came attack me. It was the funniest thing watching 4 big puffy mommas come at me like a swat team!
