Broody Hen Thread!

i've just put some crested polish eggs under a sussex. First time letting broody do all the work, last time i wasn't brave enough so let hen sit on dummy eggs and swapped them for chicks i'd hatched in incubator. Fingers crossed she stays sat

I have my girl sitting on dummy eggs as well and will swap for chicks. I too am chicken (no pun intended) to see if she will hatch them yet. Besides I don't have an incy. My fingers are crossed too,

hoping she will take to the chicks. This is her first time. Hope shes a good mama or I will be raising them.

WOOOTT. my silkie is finally brooding again. I am planing on putting under her an egg from my Brahma, my EE, my BO and i dont know if i waant any others. They are all with my Ameracauna roo. Any suggestions of what else i should put under her. All my girls are in my sig.

Trying to decide between a broody cochin hen (who has been broody for what feels like months) or one of our several Silkie gals. Decisions, decisions. I wish I had the room to give them all eggs!

I LOVE my broody! The home made incubator is now a yogurt maker and nothing else. My girl is raising her second brood this year and is such a good mom. Not to mention how much easier it all is!
