As if I dont' have enough fun in my coop! I will most likely have to do crop surgery within the next day or two to my Dark Brahma, Sweetie, that I am not happy about and now my bantam hen, Sadie, seems to have gone broody. She is not sitting on any eggs nor did she lay an egg yesterday but there she sat in her favorite nest box all day.
I checked on her last night and still sat in the box - no egg. I just combined my two flocks about a wk or so ago and I now have a rooster in the mix. He's only about 2.5 months old so he has not started to do his business. No one is fertile.
Sadie is my little meanie who chases after all the chickens and will force them out of her favorite nest box when she lays. If they don't get out she has been known to lay her egg on top of them.
This morning she was still in the box - no egg. Just making meanie noises so I took her out fo the box but she just sat like a lump on the floor making more mean noises.
Any suggestions or do I just let her be?
