Hello everyone!
One of my hens has decided to go broody and, being quite new to chickens, I’m not sure how to deal with her. She’s quite a shy hen when it comes to humans, so doesn’t scold them, but she screams at the others when they go near her.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance! 😊

Hi there. What to do depends on your flock and what you want. Do you want her hatch eggs or do you want to break her?

If you want her to hatch eggs then all she needs is fertile eggs to sit on in a nest where the rest of your girls won't get in to lay their eggs. Be sure you have a plan to deal with roosters.

If you don't want her to hatch you can put her in a dog crate with a roost, food and water but no bedding for a few days.

Thanks, I’ll do that. I think it would be lovely for her to hatch eggs, but we have no rooster and no plans for getting one anytime soon.
