I am new to raising chickens...

I have a White Leghorn who is sitting on her egg, but everytime I go in the coop she gets off... is this a broody hen? From what I have read it sounds like a broody hen wont get off the egg?

I dont want to take her egg away if she is broody... I dont believe her eggs are fertile because I dont think she will let my rooster mate her.

Any advice appreciated

I want to also add that I read Leghorns are flighty and nervous... so maybe broody but scared?

Leghorns are very flighty and nervous. They won’t come as close to me as my other girls and certainly won’t let me pick them up. Leghorns aren’t usually broody but I did have one that raised a few chicks a couple of years ago.
