broody hen?

I hear peeps and chirps! And multiple peeps and chirps at that. Looks like I have 2 at least, nice and loud.

Should I be lifting her slightly at all to check on them? Or just give her a day to do her thing?

DONT LIFT HER!!!

Sorry, I almost killed a chick by being over curious.. You will see the chicks soon enough, let Momma do her thing

It is hard to resist the temptation to peek, but you should just let her do her thing, unless she is hurting them (a few hens will do that).

As the others have said, don't bother her. She'll be much happier if you leave her alone. You don't want her to accidentally hurt one of the chicks or break an egg trying to protect them from you. (She knows you feed and water her, but now that she has babies, in her eyes you a just as much a potential predator as that raccoon, skunk or opossum that might be lurking about in the night) Give her a day or two to make sure all have hatched that are going to, and then you can check. OK, maybe just a day. I can't wait two days, either!

Ay least 2 have hatched, although I have only had a glimpse of one so far:
Cant upload from my phone, have to wait till I get to a pc

LOl, with my last broody we had been gone all day and when I went out to collect eggs I was surprised to see three little ones sitting in front of her, about knocked me over as they were 3 days early!!

Its so much fun to watch the interaction with the hen and little ones, entertaining to watch the hen interact with the rest of the flock...
