So we had our first broody hen and she hatched out 5 of the 10 eggs. We added 4 other chicks under her to get 9. We put her and the babies in a separate pen. They are 1.5 weeks old. My question is another hen just started sitting on eggs. If she hatches them out the chicks will be about 4-5 weeks apart. Is it okay to put them together? Right now the current chicks sleep in a cat box under the coop because they haven’t figured going up the ramp yet. Till the next ones hatch the first ones should be able to stay in the coop at night and the new babies can use the cat box. They would be in one pen though. Thoughts?
