Broody hens = lots of chicks!

    I have so many broodies right now! I let them all sit on just one or two eggs, except for Chrissie, who sits on as many as she likes - I'm not putting my fingers anywhere near her beak!

    Anyway, I now have five mama hens with six chicks and three more broodies, not to mention the eggs I'm hatching in incubators, plus 30+ youngsters that I'm waiting to take to a chicken swap. I'm going to have to find homes for lots of chicks!

    I had a friend "chicken sitting" over the weekend and I forgot to mention to her to leave the broody hen alone and not to try and check for eggs!
