Broody hens wont break

I just dunked. You can try just the crate first. That had always worked for me before but this time she didn't want to break. I usually keep them in an elevated crate for 3 days and that works.
and it’s 24 hours a day? pop food and water in there? there’s tons of room in the run but i’ll need to move it into the garage overnight... 🤔

Yes, 3 days straight. I would attach the food and water somehow because they get pissed and kick everything everywhere. I just set mine up in the coop but not sure how your setup is.

ahhh. ok. my husband and i just went out to check and she was definitely still in the box. puffed up like a turkey when i opened the box lid 😂 we got her i to the garage in a dog crate. food and water. will need a better idea for those two aspects but tonight at least she’s out of the box. will get her into the run first thing so her sissies know she’s still there 😉 she did get puffy but didn’t try to bite me or anything like that. she was making some sounds but didn’t seem as angry as i’ve seen in videos. anyway. thank you 😊 every day is a new adventure with these ladies!!

Just make sure the crate is off of the ground and that it's just the wire bottom. You want her belly to cool down.

That should work fine, if the run isn't safe enough to keep her caged up at night.

Otherwise yes she should either be in run or coop when the rest of the flock is awake, so they don't "forget" her, as reintegration is a pain.

Didnt you bring ne inside?

Beware the cold water is not tooo cold, and only use when it's fairly warm outside.
I've dunked a few in cold water during hot weather(85°+) before putting them in the crate.
No,I didn't. I dunked her in the water in hopes it would work and it did. Yes,it wasn't cold out. I believe we were around 85-90 with a breeze. The water was just from the hose so not super cold there either.

What I did was dunk her in the water and put her back in the crate where she got breeze on her. Like I said,it was fairly warm that day. She was good by the next morning.
