Broody in Feb!!!??

My avatar is a picture of my favorite little bantam, Thelma, that went broody a while back. She did this just after we put 13 eggs in the incubator. She hatched just the one chick, named Lil' Bit. Several months back, Thelma disappeared. We think a hawk got her.

I still get teary thinking about her. She used to come to the back door to come inside and lay her egg in a beer box. Crazy girl!
 
I haven't been out yet either. The hens have been laying later, so if I go out early and have no eggs, the barn cats aren't very happy.

They get 2 warm eggs every morning. Can we say spoiled? One is an awesome hunter that adopted us last winter, the other is an old girl that used to be the matriarch of the farm. She has turned her duties over to the younger. They deserve a nice warm breakfast every morning...
 
lol What kinda cats are they? Do they keep the mice down? The dog gets all are mice! He got one just yesterday!

Well i went out to the coop and she still was not sitting on the eggs in the brooder pen. So i let her out and she went right back to the nest she was sitting in yesterday! So i gave her the same eggs and blocked it off so the other hens cant get in with her. So tomorrow will be day 1. She is on 6 eggs.
