I seen that! I was all like wow! lol I think i want to call him/her teddy! I think it looks like a chick version of a teddy bear!!!! do you have more pics of your babies?
An update on my hen w/ the nineteen eggs. She's hatched out 8. I've been taking them as they hatch so she'll stay broody. One egg was tore up and had a chick, I have no idea when that happened. It was shrink wrapped w/ only shell on both ends. My wife said she had ten, as she helped when we moved her to a private place. I'm going to leave her alone til the end of the week so whatever she hatches that'll be it. She's got some Del eggs that I hope will hatch. So far 6 have been CM's and 2 Dels.
I wonder what goes on w/ a broody. They get up once a day even in the cold and still they hatch chicks. Amazing.
super cute babies, the brown faced one is super adorable. what' s the mix in it????
I am getting so anxious. my broody got out for a stretch today, she is looking pretty good, besides the messy butt. But, she's holding her weight pretty good. She's lost some, but, not enough to freak me out , so that is good.
Pretty much all mine hatched so far seem to be a cross of white rock and buff orpington. I have no idea about genetics so I cant understand why they take on the black feathers. What is the breed of yours that looks like that chickengirl? Here's a couple more pics.
It's hard to get a good picture because she wont let them out long. I will get some when they all hatch and come out to eat.
Wow! I had a hard time finding this post now. Back on page 3 already.
How are things going? All babies healthy and doing good?
I wanted to shoot you guys a link to my thread for my hatching. Please come on over and visit me and see how things are coming along. I figured out the dates to me hatches are:
the 11th, the 13-14, and the 20-21st, and maybe later for the bobwhite quail eggs.
Well-I hope to see you guys there. I'll still pop in here once in a while to let you know about the broody. She's my first hatch...due the 11th. I candled the 2 and one was good and one was bad. The good was is coming along fabulously.
Thanks fordmommy. I'll watch your link. My chicks are doing very well. They look like they're bigger than my fist now. I haven't held them, since it has been so cold. I've left them alone. It's getting warmer and the barn is staying about 40 deg so I'll be playing with them shortly.
