Broody killed her chick

My first-time mama - a Nankin Bantam - seemed genuinely confused when her eggs hatched. She kept stepping off the nest and looking back and forth between the eggs and the chicks like she had no idea where the little fluff balls had come from. Too funny!

She's an awesome Mama to them, now, though :

My chicks arent doing so good. I lost one and am now down to 2 left. These two seem to be doing good but i just hope it stays that way. I always feel like im a bad chicken mom when these things happen.
