Broody laying eggs!

My buff orpington has been setting on 19 banty eggs for about a week now , and when I go to check on her sometimes she has layed a egg. Is this normal or do I have a freak or does she just not know what she is doing? Any ideas!

Well you certainly don't have a freak. Many times broody hens will stop laying while she is incubating but it is not unnatural for her to not stop.

Unless you have her completely separated from the rest of the flock, it's most likely that another hen laid that egg in there.

Yes I am absolutely postive it is her egg, she in a dog crate all by herself. So I shouldn't worry about her. This is the first broody I ever had do this and I thought it was unusual.
