I had two hens go broody together 40ish days ago. The first 21 days I only gave them 2-3 eggs each and none made it for several reasons (mostly unfertilized eggs). I gave them a bunch more and a couple days ago one of the hens finally gave up and was replaced by another broody. Today, as several chicks were pipping and I was at work, the new broody mom changed her mind as well. So I had 3-4 pipped eggs in tje box all day with no heat.
I checked as soon as I got home, and they’re still alive, though they didn’t progress much. I quickly stuck them under the faithful broody. Question: do I leave them there with her or take them in and out them in my inc’y? It is full of eggs, but I don’t mind raising the humidity for a couple days and turning the others by hand to give these guys a chance to hatch. What would you do?
