I've only had one survive this kind of problem. It's chances arent good, it has to be left to dry and fall off on it's own. I have tried cutting them off before and keeping the damp hoping they would absorb it, those ones died. maybe try sticking it to it's underbelly so the other chicks and momma wont pick at it.It has so much will to live its trying so hard!
