broody mom needs help to funny pic

we have an old english he love to go broody an is a great mother we gave her 6 orp eggs to hatch a bout 10days ago an 3 days ago we relize she had 13 now

wounding why we were short a few eggs last week.so we think she is having trouble with that many eggs an were thinking of pulling a few out.then today we go down an she has recruited some help from our lav orp.we were laughing so hard they loooked so silly togeather.

That is so funny, That hapened to us too, except our whole flock was laying for one hen ,Many Many eggs!

I had one hen that kept escaping from the pen last year. She would come back each evening and sit at the door of the coop waiting to be let in.
I watched and waited but she would stay in the pen until I turned my back and I could not even find her way out. This went on for a couple of weeks until I eventually found her sitting on 26 eggs (not all hers) and the same day spotted one of the others heading back into the pen through a hole they had scratched under the fencing (and I had dug the fencing down by about 6 inches).
Needless to say, none of the eggs were viable and she didn't go properly broody.
