Broody on Nest

It can be done.....sometimes. It's kind of risky, all depending on the hen. If it's a really bad location, and you just really need to move, i would try it. Do it late at night, when she is for sure sound asleep. Carefully take the eggs out and move them to the new location, and then move her and put her on top. Don't shine any flashlights on her, and ideally put her somewhere where it's darker and secluded. Don't stare at her for long periods or disturb her. You will know in the morning if she's settled or not. Go out early, so that if she is upset, the eggs won't have time to die. If she's up and clucking, i would immediately move her back, and she should settle down. Otherwise you may lose the eggs.
