My one year old peahen has been setting on one egg for 10 days. I candled the egg today and it is clear. My question is whether to let her keep brooding or try to break her broodiness. A couple of people have said to let her set but I'm not sure it's a good idea. I've had to break chicken hens from being broody but I'm not sure of the best way to do it with a young peahen. Or do I let her brood?

do you have another pea egg you can give her? or a chicken egg? If she wants to brood I would give her something to try to hatch. Not everyone gets broody peahens. I had 5 hens that went broody and I had 86 peafowl. I gave away free all but 33 cause I had 3 weeks to move to Florida and no time to sell them. I kept my 5 broody hens.

I no longer support the UPA so I will never go to a convention. Good to be back, not in CT anymore now in Florida :yesss:
