broody question

It's the hormones in a hen that makes her "want" to go broody, just setting some eggs in a nest most times will not do it. I would date two or three eggs and try. Wouldn't want to waste a whole clutch.

tuffoldhen is right, hens go broody if they have a rooster or not, and if they have eggs or not. I've seen hens set on empty nests and refuse to get off of it even if you take all their eggs every time.
