My chicken laid a egg today and she decided to sit on it. Does this mean she is broody!? Also, if se sits on it during night can I slip another egg so it can intice her broodyness!:) thanks you!!

Are you sure she is broody? Usually hens collect a clutch of eggs (about 10) and then start to incubate them. If she is still sitting on her egg in the morning and all day tomorrow (without getting up except to eat/drink/stretch her legs for about 30 minutes a couple times a day) then I would give her the title of being broody. Is she is, in fact, broody then she has to be sitting on fertilized eggs for them to hatch. You can put more eggs under her.

Hens sometimes like to sit on their eggs for awhile after laying. If she stays on the egg(s), sleeps in the nest box for at least 2 nights in a row and puffs up and screeches at you when you disturb her she is most likely broody. Don't give her eggs to hatch unless you are sure she's really broody.
